Separate accidents in Central Cariboo Wednesday night
Two separate vehicle accidents in the Central Cariboo kept RCMP and emergency teams busy Wednesday night.
At 7:40 PM an accident occurred involving one female passenger along Likely Road near the intersection of Big Lake Rd.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times.
Volunteer firefighter with the Big Lake Fire Department Ray Bruneski explains the incident.
“A resident of Big Lake was involved in a motor vehicle incident. The Big Lake Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to free her, before she was flown to Vancouver to receive surgery.”
RCMP say drugs or alcohol don’t not appear to be contributing factors.
The second incident happened on Big Mountain Road in Williams Lake just before midnight.
A single driver traveling down the mountain allegedly crossed the middle line and struck a car head on carrying two passengers.
The single passenger vehicle driver was thrown from his car but only sustained minor injuries.
Two passengers in the other vehicle were more seriously hurt and were taken to Kamloops to be re-evaluated for what is thought to be bone fractures.
RCMP inspector Warren Brown did state that drugs and or alcohol may have been a factor.
